Associate/Senior Associate/Legal Director (0125)

Summary of Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate/ Senior Associate/ Legal Director, who is 3.5 to 10yrs+ PQE, to join our Pensions team.

The successful candidate will work alongside Partners, James Keith, and Martyn Shaw. The Pensions team, based in Glasgow, are highly ranked in the Legal 500 and Chambers Legal Directory.

The team assist clients, including trustees and employers, with benefit transfers, scheme wind-ups and liability management, M&A, GMP equalisation projects, as well as asset-backed funding arrangements for defined benefit pension schemes. Clients range from sole traders to companies listed across the globe, and trustees of pension schemes of all sizes.

 

Key Tasks

  • Manage your workload competently, professionally, efficiently and cost effectively to achieve client and firm objectives.
  • Advise on a diverse range of pension matters.
  • Provide high-quality service and advice to trustee, employer and pension provider clients.
  • Be pro-active in the financial control of your own matters, including accurate time recording and prompt feeing.
  • Contribute constructively to the work of other members of the Pensions team.
  • Support the Firm's and the Corporate & Commercial Division's marketing initiatives, including business development and networking events. The team actively encourages and supports participation within industry wide professional bodies and groups.

 

Qualifications and Experience 

  • 5-10yrs+ PQE with Pensions experience.
  • Good level of knowledge and experience of Pensions law.

  • You have excellent communication skills, you are articulate, you communicate clearly, concisely and without any jargon.
  • You enjoy working within a team and autonomously on your own initiative.
  • You are personable and good at building and developing client relationships.
  • You are confident and you have a strong belief in yourself and your own ability.
  • You are committed to providing a good client experience and willing to put in extra time and effort when required.
