Associate, Commercial Real Estate (0118)

Summary of Role

To provide legal advice to commercial real estate clients, to negotiate contracts on their behalf and to advise on all matters involved in the purchase, sale, development and leasing of commercial real estate.

 

Key Tasks

  • Draft, negotiate and agree forms of contracts for sale and purchase of commercial real estate assets.
  • Draft, negotiate and conclude leases and relates documents acting for landlord and tenant.
  • Draft, negotiate and agree Option Agreements and Development Agreements.
  • Review and report on title to Scottish property.
  • Build and maintain long lasting client and agent relationships.
  • Delegate and supervise work effectively.
  • Support more junior team members of the team with the development of their technical knowledge and skills.
  • Manage your workload competently, professionally, efficiently to achieve client and firm objectives.
  • Be pro-active in the financial control of all your own and team matters, including accurate time recording and prompt feeing.
  • Contribute constructively to the work of other team members/teams in the Real Estate Division.
  • Participate in and support business development initiatives within the Real Estate Division.

 

Qualifications and Experience 

  • 4 - 6 years PQE with relevant commercial real estate experience.
  • Experience of supervising the work of others desirable.

  • You have excellent communication skills, you are articulate, you communicate clearly, concisely and without any jargon.
  • You enjoy working within a team and autonomously on your own initiative.
  • You are personable and good at building and developing client relationships.
  • You are confident and you have a strong belief in yourself and your own ability.
  • You are committed to providing a good client experience and willing to put in extra time and effort when required.
