Solicitor/Associate, Agricultural & Rural (0066)

Summary of Role

To deliver an excellent client focused legal service principally in the sale and purchase of rural property, crofting, renewables, agricultural holdings and general estate work. To build effective client relations and be involved in business development to help further grow the practice.

 

Key Tasks

  • Manage your caseload professionally and act as a role model to others in the delivery of excellent client service.
  • Promote the services of the firm to all clients, actively networking and seeking new contacts, and develop and convert your contacts into new business.
  • Purchase and sale of estates, farms, woodlands, minerals, rural houses and fishing rights.
  • Advise landlords and tenants on agricultural and croft tenancies.
  • Drafting and advising on commercial leases and other contracts, including those related to renewable development, in the rural context.
  • Advise on changes and developments in the law as applied to rural Scotland.
  • General rural conveyancing.
  • Manage your own technical learning, developing an area of specialist knowledge and becoming recognised, internally and externally as an expert in your chosen field.

 

Qualifications and Experience 

  • 1yr to 6 years PQE

  • You have excellent communication skills, you are articulate, you communicate clearly, concisely and without any jargon.
  • You enjoy working within a team and autonomously on your own initiative.
  • You are personable and good at building and developing client relationships.
  • You are confident and you have a strong belief in yourself and your own ability.
  • You are committed to providing a good client experience and willing to put in extra time and effort when required.
