A summer placement will provide invaluable experience, allowing you to choose a firm which is right for you and prepare you for your forthcoming traineeship.

Working with us during the summer will offer you the opportunity to participate in work-based learning in one of our practice areas and gain valuable experience of life in the legal profession.

We offer students a paid three-week placement in one of our offices, with an aim to provide you with an insight into the firm and our culture. You can expect to get involved in a variety of work including, for example, carrying out research and shadowing trainees.

To be considered for a placement, you need to be in at least your third year of a Scots Law Degree or first year of the accelerated LLB and be available on the key dates outlined below.

Applications are now open for our 2025 summer placement programme. 

• Applications open: Monday 16^th December 2024
• Applications close: Monday 27^th January 2025 at 12 noon
• Assessment Day: Friday 7^th February 2025 (Glasgow) and Monday 10^th February 2025 (Edinburgh)
• Placement Dates: 2^nd June 2025 - 20^th June 2025
